Mr. Hyde

“I can’t believe what I’m hearing”, Joan thought. All of her friends had good excuses but that was not music to her ears. No… she much preferred the trom-bone. But what is that sound coming from up ahead? Is someone dying? Or singing!? She looked in the direction of the sound and happily saw her friend, Mr. Hyde.

Each karaoke song is two letters different from the original song that's playing on the machine.

Songs are in alphabetical order by the new song title.

The hidden message ASK AT THE BAR FOR A FREE FLYER FOR STEP TWO should have given you a flyer (as well as a lyric reference sheet). This flyer will prove helpful after you've identified the new song titles.

Click to reveal Hint #4

On your flyer, pay particular attention to the band names and how they compare to your list of song titles.

Here are the original songs:

A WHOLE NEW WORLD

BEFORE HE CHEATS

CALL ME MAYBE

COME TOGETHER

CREEP

HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN

LIKE A VIRGIN

MY HUMPS

REDNECK WOMAN

SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT

STAYIN' ALIVE

Click to reveal Hint #5

The bands on the flyer are all the same lengths as the new song names. For each band, you only need a couple of letters.

Click to reveal Hint #6

For a given song, look at the two letters that differ from the original song, then take the letters in the same position of the band in the flyer that has the same length.

For example, Hyde's variation of "Redneck Woman" is Redneck Nomad. The band in the flyer that has the same length is Another Thing. So, you'd take the T and G, which will be part of your answer phrase.

Her final friend had just rejected her invitation, and she didn't press the issue because she lacked the guts to say anything.

Sadly, Joan had not found the bone-fide friends she thought she had. “I am hip to their excuses”, she lamented. “I can understand their busy schedules. They may not be able to make it to my Death Day Party, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t going to be one. I am not going tibia party pooper.”

Joan Marrow put her hands on her hips and defiantly made her way to the party alone.
